Cambodia Floods 2026
The water came after a drought, and it came just before the harvest. Flooding in September and October 2026 affected ten provinces, with Battambang and Banteay Meanchey among the hardest hit and Battambang the most severely affected. According to the Asian Disaster Reduction Center, citing a DCA/WFP update, 109,985 families were affected across ten provinces as of 5 October 2026; according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, 240,583 hectares of agricultural crops were affected across fourteen provinces as of 16 October 2026.
Puntland AWD and Cholera Early Action
According to an IFRC sEAP activation document dated 17 October 2026, 307 acute watery diarrhoea cases were reported across 17 locations in Puntland by epidemiological week 42 of 2026. The same document places 139 cases in Balibusle, 114 in Rako, Bari and 21 in Garowe. The Somali Red Crescent Society activated Trigger 1 of sEAP2025SO02 on 11 October 2026 after elevated risks were confirmed in Puntland and Somaliland. The Puntland Ministry of Health confirmed Vibrio cholerae O1 (Ogawa) in Balibusle, and water quality testing by the Puntland Water Development Authority reportedly detected E. coli contamination, though locations and results are not stated.
Education Disruptions in the West Bank
UNICEF counted more than 830,000 children returning to West Bank classrooms at the start of the 2026-27 year. According to Save the Children, the first 50 days then brought 174 incidents affecting 140 schools and about 24,500 students — 121 per cent more than the same period in 2025 — and more than 875 lost school hours. WeWorld puts the longer exposure at over 837,000 students facing barriers in the past school year and over 1,200 attacks or incidents in 2025.
Baidoa: Renewed Fighting, Displacement, and Forecast Flooding
Federal forces took Baidoa on 30 March 2026; since 17 August, clashes with Laftagareen loyalists have damaged a hospital and displaced thousands. According to the latest IPC analysis, nearly 26,000 displaced people in Baidoa are projected to face Catastrophic hunger in the October-December projection period.
South and South-East Asia Route
UNHCR maps the South and South-East Asia route as overlapping corridors, not one flow. Forced displacement from Myanmar is the principal protection dimension: UNHCR data lists 4,058,100 IDPs inside Myanmar, last updated 2026-10-19; 1.2 million Rohingya in Bangladesh as of 2026-06-30, with two counts 29 apart; 1,355,000 stateless Rohingya refugees and asylum-seekers across host countries as of 2026-06-30, per UNHCR data; UNHCR's Routes Monitor recorded 650 dead or missing at sea in June 2026; and a 2025 Rohingya response plan reported to be 46 per cent funded as of 2025-12-31, according to UN reporting.
Sudan Polio Vaccination Campaign
Sudan's Federal Ministry of Health, with WHO and UNICEF support, is running a nationwide nOPV2 campaign reported to target around 11 million children in October and November 2026. The first phase, 26–29 October, targeted 6 million children in 107 localities across 12 states; a second phase in the first week of November targets a further 5 million in 79 localities across the five Darfur states and West Kordofan — together matching the national target. Variant poliovirus has circulated since December 2024; in 2026, six children and three wastewater samples were confirmed positive, per the WHO/UNICEF release of 28 October 2026. The conflict that began in 2023 has disrupted the health system and limited routine immunization.
Kenya Ebola and Displacement 2026
Kenya counted nine confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola cases and two deaths as of 2026-10-24, all in one cluster of known contacts after an imported case from the DRC; WHO as of 2026-10-20 and the Ministry of Health as of 2026-10-24 report no evidence of wider community transmission. Across the Ethiopian border, the counts diverge: Save the Children's October 2026 Humanitarian Update reports approximately 15,240 displaced, a figure disputed by higher counts from UNHCR, KNCHR and local authorities — according to UNHCR 36,000 people had fled as of 2026-10-27, according to KNCHR approximately 40,000 people had sought refuge in Moyale as of 2026-10-27, and according to local authorities up to an estimated 50,000 people had crossed as of 2026-10-28.
Haiti Grand Sud Floods
At least four people have died, according to the OCHA flash update as of 2026-10-28, and Civil Protection put the provisional toll at at least four on 2026-10-26. Two fishermen are missing in Abricots. In Nippes, OCHA counts 1,920 families affected, 1,767 houses flooded and 48 small houses destroyed. Elsewhere the count is partial: reportedly 630 houses flooded in Grand'Anse and four washed away in Gommiers; 200 flooded in Les Cayes. The DGPC orange alert and its reported lifting on 2026-10-27 are disputed.
Hormuz Closure and El Niño Risks for Niger's Agricultural Households
The FAO's August 2026 DIEM-Risk analysis examines how the Strait of Hormuz crisis and an intense El Niño forecast could reach Niger's agricultural households, with Hormuz disruption expected to raise fuel, fertilizer and freight costs and El Niño raising the risk of erratic rainfall. FAO GIEWS, in its 28 August 2026 brief, estimates about 2.4 million people faced severe acute food insecurity from June to August 2026.
Hebron Military Operation
On 23 October 2026, two Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near Hebron; Netanyahu ordered Hebron and Halhul sealed off. Israeli forces then ordered evacuations and began demolitions. At least around 2,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced since 23 October. A disputed count puts the figure above 3,000 by 26 October. According to OCHA, aid partners were supporting more than 3,000 evacuated people as of that date. B'Tselem said the measures amount to collective punishment and possible war crimes, and MAP reportedly warned of ethnic cleansing.
Somalia Gender-Based Violence Crisis
More than half of Somalia's 120 registered GBV service facilities were closed or non-operational by the end of June 2026, according to a UNFPA situation report published 2026-07-09, as funding shortfalls cut protection services. The closures came as conflict, climate shocks and displacement drove heightened risks for women and girls, with an estimated 2.7 million at risk of gender-based violence in 2025 according to UNFPA's 2025 estimate and a 2026 appeal 19 per cent funded according to UNFPA's undated appeal page.
Bangladesh Measles Outbreak 2026
Between 15 March and 14 October 2026, Bangladesh reported 208,570 suspected measles cases, 22,840 laboratory-confirmed cases, and 185,390 measles-related hospital admissions, according to an IFRC/BDRCS report; these national figures are disputed and not independently verified. The same report lists 1,073 suspected deaths, including 104 laboratory-confirmed deaths. Confirmed contributing factors: accumulated immunity gaps, missed vaccinations, vaccine-supply disruptions, and underimmunization. An emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign began 5 April 2026 targeting more than 1.2 million children in 30 upazilas across 18 high-risk districts.
Paris Protest Route and Restrictions
On 2026-10-23 Paris police banned the previously approved Bastille–Nation route for the 2026-10-24 demonstration and proposed an alternative between Porte d'Italie and Porte de Vincennes, a day after the Paris administrative court suspended the ban on the 2026-10-22 student demonstration between Pitié-Salpêtrière and Bastille. France planned to deploy 70,000 police officers and gendarmes nationwide for 2026-10-24, as reported by Ouest-France, BFMTV, France24 and RTL, and only trade-union-organized demonstrations were to be authorized, according to the government's announced policy. RATP announced station closures from 09:00 on 2026-10-24, and a partial 23:00–06:00 curfew runs through 2026-10-26 in République and Les Halles. Authorities reported an estimate of about 550,000 participants across France on 2026-10-17, a figure reported by France24 and Huffington Post and not independently verified.
US–Iran Cessation of Hostilities Memorandum and Regional Humanitarian Pressures
On 17 June 2026 the United States and Iran signed an interim 14-point memorandum of understanding concerning the cessation of hostilities, providing for an immediate halt to hostilities and a 60-day negotiation period, including arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz. Separately, an IOM mobility report dated 22 October 2026 documented a regional escalation that triggered a humanitarian crisis affecting multiple countries and placed pressure on humanitarian access and essential civilian services as of 22 October 2026. According to the same 22 October 2026 IOM report, as likely findings, recurring escalations in Iran disrupted basic services and infrastructure, and maritime and air-transport restrictions affected movement and humanitarian access. IOM/DTM reported, as a likely finding, that population movements in Iran and the wider region remained localized, temporary and economically driven as of 5 October 2026, with no signs of mass displacement. IOM/DTM also likely estimated approximately 217,303 people recorded as displaced in Yemen by 12 October 2026.
OCHA's 23 October 2026 Report on Humanitarian Worker Security Incidents in the Central African Republic
According to OCHA's report dated 23 October 2026, 84 incidents affecting humanitarian workers were recorded in the Central African Republic since January 2026; that figure is reported by OCHA for the latest reporting snapshot and is not independently established here. OCHA's same report records 14 incidents in the latest reporting month, against six in the preceding month — a 133 percent increase in the reported monthly count, explicitly not a measure of changed underlying risk. The supplied claims do not name those two months, so this dossier refers to them only as the latest reporting month and the preceding month. Of the latest 14, OCHA reports nine criminal incidents (six thefts, three robberies), four involving harassment or interference with movements, and one involving violence during road travel. Year-to-date prefecture counts reported by OCHA are led by Vakaga (20), Bangui (17), and Haut-Mbomou (16); in the latest reporting month, OCHA reports international NGOs with six incidents, UN agencies five, and national NGOs three. OCHA further reports the increase may be associated with expanded humanitarian activities in areas where armed groups are present and with administrative restrictions — reported as a possible association, not causation. Recorded figures do not cover unreported incidents and do not establish underlying risk.
Aid Worker Security Report: State Detentions of Humanitarian Workers
A publication listing from Humanitarian Outcomes describes a report on detentions of humanitarian workers by state actors. It draws on verified global statistics from the Aid Worker Security Database, which counts detentions and kidnappings as major incidents only when the worker is held for more than 24 hours, and on 29 key-informant interviews and consultations. In Yemen, Houthi authorities have detained humanitarian and United Nations personnel, impeding humanitarian operations and access; according to the United Nations Security Council, at least 21 United Nations personnel have likely been detained since 2025-08-31. A World Food Programme aid worker died in Houthi custody on 2025-02-11.
Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute Technician Death
A 28-year-old technician at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute was hospitalized on 2026-09-29 and died in hospital on 2026-10-02, having developed severe pneumonia (rferl.org, news18.com). Russian health authorities reported pneumonia of unknown etiology and said testing found no microorganisms connected to her professional work (ndtv.com, fontanka.ru, skolkovomedpharm.ru). Reports alleged a laboratory accident with pneumonic-plague bacteria on 2026-09-25; Russian authorities said no such accident occurred (rferl.org, newsweek.com, svoboda.org, fontanka.ru). By 2026-10-05, more than 60 institute staff were reportedly isolated and nearly 200 people who may have had contact with her were placed under observation (rferl.org, svoboda.org; new.intellinews.com, indiatoday.in, skolkovomedpharm.ru). Reports of three-week quarantines at several Irkutsk hospitals were disputed; hospitals and fact-checking outlets denied that the facilities were closed or operating under a plague quarantine (meduza.io, kyivindependent.com, new.intellinews.com, ircity.ru). As of 2026-10-06, WHO assessed public-health risk to the general population as low and reported that no identified contacts had shown symptoms (tass.com, news18.com). Russian authorities said no pneumonic plague outbreak had been established and the regional epidemiological situation remained stable (europeanpulse.com, ndtv.com, fontanka.ru, ngs24.ru).
Honduras Drought Emergency
Honduras placed 75 drought-hit municipalities under a state of emergency with Executive Decree PCM-016-2026, signed on 18 August 2026 and published in La Gaceta on 19 August. The decree rests on the red alert COPECO declared for the same 75 municipalities on 18 August and runs for 120 days, to 16 December per the OPSAa registry. On 26 August COPECO raised 28 more municipalities to red alert, bringing the total to 103, according to Honduran media and UN OCHA. The Flash Appeal published on 22 September estimates 708,000 people in need across the 103 red-alert municipalities and asks for US$60 million to reach 538,000 of them. In early October COPECO said 233 municipalities remained under some drought alert and that the drought was not over.
Chad Lac Displacement and Cholera Response
Since May 2026, attacks by non-state armed groups and preventive evacuations ordered under the state of emergency in Lac Province's Fouli and Kaya departments have displaced 75,210 people onto 16 sites, by the authorities' count, on top of about 220,000 people already displaced there. Cholera, confirmed at Kangalom on 6 August and declared in the province two days later, had reached 802 cases and 46 deaths in Lac by 30 September, OCHA reports, and 525,501 people had been vaccinated. Emergency funding announced so far comes to $7.2 million — $4.2 million from the UN's Central Emergency Response Fund and $3 million from the regional humanitarian fund — against a response plan revised up to $15.1 million.
Strait of Hormuz Standoff
The war that began on 28 February 2026 has kept the Strait of Hormuz contested for almost eight months. On 1 September US officials said a military escort took 40 commercial vessels carrying 18 million barrels of oil through the strait, a wartime high; the analytics firm Kpler counted 11 crossings that day. Attacks on shipping rose again in October: UKMTO reported at least 12 ships attacked in the week to 16 October, and by 20 October the IMO's register counted 116 confirmed incidents and 24 seafarers killed since 28 February. The IMO says around 6,000 seafarers remain trapped in the region, the figure it gave on 28 August, when it said up to 400 ships could not leave the Persian Gulf safely. Washington and Tehran each say the strait is under their control.
DRC Cholera Notifications 2026
The available WHO epidemiological report for week 32 of 2026 appears to record 1,528 suspected cholera cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo — a figure that is disputed, and slightly below the 1,568 reported the week before. Suspected notifications remained above 1,000 for another week as the rainy season approached, spread across 16 of 26 provinces and 70 of 519 health zones, with South Kivu and North Kivu together accounting for 52.55% of suspected notifications. By week 32, cumulative suspected cases stood at 39,483 with 1,173 deaths, a case-fatality rate of 2.97%, according to an internal WHO situation report cited by RFI.
South Sudan's First National Elections Since Independence
South Sudan is scheduled to hold its first national elections since independence on 22 December 2026. The UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan has warned that elections held without essential political, security and human-rights safeguards could fuel renewed conflict and increase the risk of atrocity crimes. The Commission identified converging atrocity-risk factors, including resumed armed conflict, weakened civic and constitutional safeguards, abandoned inclusive politics, inadequate accountability and exclusion from meaningful political participation. Armed conflict has resumed in parts of Upper Nile, Jonglei and Unity states, with clashes and civilian deaths also reported in Western and Central Equatoria; the UN-backed probe reportedly recorded 407 ceasefire violations between August 2025 and January 2026, according to UN News. Key provisions and safeguards of the 2018 Revitalised Agreement remain unimplemented or unmet, while changes removed the census and permanent-constitution requirements from the electoral sequence. The South Sudanese government has maintained that it remains committed to holding the elections as scheduled and that the main obstacles, including insecurity and economic constraints, are manageable.
West Bank Settler Displacement
Human Rights Watch reports that Israeli settler attacks have fully or partially displaced 107 Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank since January 2023, according to Human Rights Watch and UN data cited in reporting published on August 20, 2026. Settlement expansion has accelerated in parallel, described by multiple sources as unprecedented or record-setting. HRW says settlers receive financial, material, and legal support from the Israeli state, and that attacks often occur alongside Israeli army units or while soldiers fail to intervene. United Nations data cited by reporting indicates an average of 6.6 settler attacks per day in 2024, the highest rate in those records; 2026 was reported as on track to surpass the 2023 record for settler killings.
E1 Settlement Tender
On 18 August 2026, Israel's Ministry of Housing or Israel Land Authority opened a tender for 1,234 housing units in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank, according to Al Jazeera, Peace Now and The Times of Israel. The tender covers 1,234 of 3,401 housing units approved or planned for E1 — approximately 36 percent, per the same reporting. Bids close 19 October 2026, eight days before the scheduled 27 October 2026 election, according to Peace Now, PCHR and The Times of Israel. Critics and rights groups say the project would sever the northern and southern West Bank, per Al Jazeera and Peace Now, and threaten 18 Bedouin communities in or around the project area, according to Human Rights Watch, FMEP and OCHA; the project is widely described as unlawful under international law, including in reporting on the International Court of Justice's 2024 advisory opinion.
West Bank Healthcare Attacks 2026
Medical Aid for Palestinians warns that Palestinian healthcare workers in the West Bank face documented attacks, detention, harassment, and obstruction. According to WHO figures cited by MAP, recorded attacks on health care in the West Bank rose from eight in June 2026 to 37 in July 2026, more than fourfold. Documented cases include a nurse shot and left with a spinal-cord injury and paralysis in Sa'ir, and a doctor beaten by settlers in Jannatah. MAP reports, as likely, an ambulance attacked while carrying a patient from Tel Rumeida, and reports, as likely, that it provided bulletproof vests and helmets to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
Aid Worker Violence 2025
At least 350 aid workers were killed worldwide in 2025, according to the Aid Worker Security Database figures verified through December 31, 2025 and published in August 2026. Gaza accounted for 186 of those deaths and Sudan for 71 — together nearly three-quarters of the global total. A separate OCHA-linked count put 907 aid workers killed, injured or kidnapped in major security incidents during the same year, including 322 injured and 235 kidnapped. The 2026 toll is already contested: 84 by the IRC on August 18-19, 82 by OCHA and UN-linked reporting on August 19.
Cholera in Cameroon's Far North
According to the UN OCHA report covering 11–17 August 2026, Cameroon's Far North Region had recorded 1,252 cholera cases and 31 deaths across nine health districts as of 12 August 2026. The Central Emergency Response Fund allocated US$1 million for prevention, treatment, and safe water and sanitation for 230,000 people, with children, refugees and high-risk border communities named as priorities. OCHA reports, as a likely impact, that heavy rains and strong winds affected 742 people in six localities of Logone et Chari, damaging 257 homes, 17 schools and eight water points; OCHA assesses that flooding in Makary, the region's second-most affected cholera district, could further increase transmission as the rainy season intensifies.
Lebanon Displacement and Returns 2026
UNHCR counted around 860,000 people back in their areas of origin by 18 August 2026, and about 360,000 still displaced. At least 22,000 remained in collective shelters. Many returnees faced damaged homes, widespread destruction and shortages of essential services. UNHCR reported fresh Israeli airstrikes in the south sent families north again, despite the ceasefire. Beirut News reported a government framework for return and reconstruction; the claim is unverified.
Colombia Chocó Earthquake
A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck San José del Palmar in Colombia's Chocó Department on 10 August 2026. Four days later, OCHA's 18:30 local time snapshot counted 183 aftershocks, 15 departments and 437 municipalities affected, and at least 135,179 people. Housing, critical infrastructure and essential services were reported damaged. Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities were among those affected. The next OCHA flash update was scheduled for Monday, 17 August 2026, according to the update.
DRC Bundibugyo Ebola Outbreak
As of 10 August 2026, the Democratic Republic of the Congo reported 4,449 confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola cases and 2,061 deaths, according to the WHO estimate cited by IOM. The outbreak is the largest Ebola outbreak ever reported in the DRC and is expanding faster than previous ones. It is unfolding in eastern DRC amid armed conflict, large-scale displacement and acute humanitarian needs that constrain access and complicate response. Most deaths are occurring outside treatment centres, and there is no licensed vaccine or approved virus-specific treatment. Cross-border movements and regional preparedness are also affected.
Venezuela Earthquakes
Two earthquakes — magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 — struck central-northern Venezuela on 24 June 2026. As of 10 August 2026, authorities reported 6,301 deaths and 73,356 people treated in hospitals. According to OCHA Situation Report No. 33, more than 304,000 affected people had accessed humanitarian assistance and essential services by 14 August 2026, 57 per cent of them women and girls. The UN and partner organizations report a six-month plan to reach 1.3 million affected people, according to OCHA.
Western Colombia Earthquake
A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia on 10 August 2026, with its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó. As of 13 August 2026, OCHA reported 266 deaths and Caracol Radio reported 265 deaths on 12 August 2026; OCHA reported 3,771 injured and IOM reported 3,824 injured. A reported figure of more than 45,000 destroyed homes is disputed. Before the earthquake, more than 1.2 million people in Chocó and Valle del Cauca needed humanitarian assistance (ReliefWeb, HCN Times; exact date of estimate not specified). More than 300,000 children face heightened protection risks, including possible recruitment by armed groups, as schooling and livelihoods are disrupted (ReliefWeb, We-News, HCN Times; date of estimate not specified). The International Rescue Committee and local partners launched a response involving health or mental-health, education, and protection programming.
Summer 2026 Wildfires
In early August 2026, major fires burned at once across Russia, Europe, and North America. Avialesookhrana reported 237 active forest fires in Russia on 3 August, with 4,347 personnel engaged; the agency's likely estimate put the active area at 188,700 ha. EFFIS estimated Europe's burned area at about 576,000 ha by 17 August, and the Hautes Fagnes fire in Belgium exceeded 3,000 ha with evacuations. A likely GWIS/Our World in Data estimate dated 1 August 2026 put global burned area at 112.3 million ha, 55 per cent in Africa. In Washington state, tens of thousands were reportedly forced from their homes. A disputed claim, attributed to unn.ua and visualcapitalist.com, says global fire counts and emissions fell to record lows in 2026.
Mpox: The Emergency After the Emergency
WHO closed the global alarm in September 2025. The virus answered by changing address — into households, into children, and onto an island now carrying the largest clade Ib outbreak on earth.
H5N1: The Ledger of a Virus That Has Not Crossed Over
Seventy-one US human cases since February 2024, a thousand worldwide since 2003, and — on every dated snapshot here — no confirmed chain from one person to the next. The story is the watching: tens of thousands of exposed people monitored so a single human link would be seen.
Haiti Gang Crisis
Over half the country is written into a humanitarian plan, a million and a half are driven from home, and the quarter's dead are counted by the thousand — but the most disciplined reading of who did the killing does not point where the reflex expects. Over all of it sits a state with no elected officials and a foreign force whose mandate is vast and whose effect is unproven.
Afghanistan Humanitarian Crisis
Five years into Taliban rule, almost half of Afghanistan is written into a humanitarian plan — and the budget for it shrank faster than the need. Hunger, a hollow economy, mass deportation and a documented architecture of bans on women and girls sit on one map.
Somalia / Al-Shabaab
One emergency, budgeted downward. OCHA counts 4.8 million people in need, then narrows the promise to 2.4 million targeted, 1.6 million prioritised, and 577,000 actually reached — while a drought and an insurgency drive the same families from home and no single number holds them all.
Central Sahel Crisis
Almost every number you have read about the Central Sahel belongs to a larger map — one that folds in Nigeria and Chad and calls it the same crisis. Underneath the aggregation, three countries carry 2.8 million people displaced inside their own borders, and two kinds of killing that no one should average together.
Eastern DR Congo / M23 War
In its fifth year the M23 war is measured in ledgers that must never be added — displaced kept apart from returned, refugees apart from the hungry, a civilian toll apart from a military one. Two things the independent record does state, each in careful wording: the UN names Rwanda's forces behind M23, and a UN mission finds all sides did harm.
Myanmar Civil War
Five years after the coup, Myanmar is measured in ledgers that refuse to add up — a UN-verified civilian death floor, a media-report tally five times larger, three displacement counts, and a case archive built for trials that have not happened. More than 1,200 armed groups make it the world's most fragmented war, and access is so thin that every number is a floor.
Yemen Civil War
Yemen's 2022 ceasefire largely held until the summer of 2026, UN News reports; then it broke. After Saudi strikes on Sanaa airport on 13 July, ACLED reports, the Houthis retaliated against Saudi targets, and Saudi forces struck the Hodeidah port area on 24 July; Houthi attacks on government camps followed on 6 August, and in September the Houthis took the port of Mokha. On 9 October the UN Special Envoy told the Security Council that Yemen had slid back into full-scale war. UNHCR counts more than 250,000 people displaced between 1 August and 17 October. The emergency that ran beneath the ceasefire is still there: more than 22 million people in need, a hunger map with its northern half switched off, suspected cholera cases tripling in three weeks, and 72 UN staff held by the Houthi authorities.
Russia–Ukraine War
In its fifth year, the full-scale war is measured in ledgers that refuse to add up to a single number: a verified floor of civilian dead, three separate displacement counts, a half-trillion-dollar rebuild, a court's list of the accused. The discipline is to keep them apart.
Sudan Civil War
Two armed institutions dressed themselves as the state. Sudan got the bill: hunger, exile, ruined hospitals and a country converted into a front line.
Israel-Gaza War
A war sold in the language of security and resistance is lived in the material language of rubble, hostages, amputated streets and reported bodies.
